To our customers, neighbors and friends:
It is with sad hearts and sincere regret that we inform you that The Irish House will close on Wednesday, May 31, 2017.
It has been our pleasure to serve you and to be a part of your lives and of the New Orleans community. We have loved celebrating your birthdays, anniversaries, engagements and weddings. We cherish the relationships that were built over a pint, a meal or a song. We wish the best to our guests, friends and family. We are grateful to our staff and our exceptionally loyal management team. We are especially thankful to the owner of the building and couldn't imagine The Irish House anywhere else but at 1432 St. Charles Avenue.
Owning a family run business is difficult and a seven day a week restaurant is even harder. As a family, we have poured our hearts and souls into the pub. We painted every wall, framed every picture and planned every detail. We poured pints, washed dishes, scrubbed floors and stayed all night doing whatever was needed. We raised our children in the kitchen and fed them in the dining rooms. But we are ready to move ahead. As sorry as we are closing the doors, we look forward to refocusing on what is most important to us: our family and five children.
The building and business are for sale. If someone purchases it, we hope that they will continue the warm and welcome Irish hospitality that The Irish House has been known for.

Thank you and slainte agus beannacht leat.
